Our devoted Discovery spray-painter dedicates his talent to each & every horse float. He is fastidious over preparation, paint applications & finishes. It really is a labour of Discovery LOVE !! This short brief explains our paint processes ....
Firstly, from the sheeting area of the factory, the float is prepped, cleaned, wiped, washed, air pressured & sanded. Every fleck of dust, steel remnant, filings ~ must be removed.
2PAC automotive primer is sprayed internally & externally.
The float body is then lightly sanded & cleaned again before colour application.
3 coats of colour base coat is then applied. Meticulously & fastidiously, avoiding any patches or paint runs. Experience in spray painting automobiles is essential!
Non-metallic colours do not require a clear coat finish, as the finish sealant is already built into these colours. But for all metallic base floats and or two tone / three tone paint applications, a clear coat is required to complete the process.
The paint is then baked & cured for 24hours in our Discovery paint booth.
